Except for the exquisitely realistic treatment of the water, this scene could be out of an El Greco Toledo painting. Rhyn has succeeded to allow the onlooker to experience the feeling of being in a little canal street in Venice. Looking at the windows as though with a squint ,the street metamorphoses into an almost surrealistic delight. It gives us the sense of being there, savouring the ambiance because the artist has made sure to purposely ignore the fine details.
