This is one of Rhyn's early works done upon his arrival to Canada. The style and execution differs from his later, more mature years, however, the ambiance of Quebec City in the 1950s is there and the composition, quite appropriate. Of interest, is the fact that at the time, plein air work was frowned upon as abstract painting was in style.
