When you are painting someone, you are evaluating the topography. Rhyns topography reminds one of the face of a Roman aristocrat, with a large nose and deep set eyes. His eyes however, show a self assured gentleman, who is sensitive, yet firm and, who knows the intricacies of life, both victories and defeats.
